If you have ever read the warning label on the bottom of a candle you'll know that you're supposed to stop burning your candle when you get to 1/2 inch of wax on the bottom. This is to keep you safe. If you burn your wax too low the flame could potentially heat up the bottom of your jar so much that it could crack or shatter.
Don't worry though, the wax at the bottom is NOT wasted. Just freeze your candle, pop out the wax and throw it in a wax warmer. Let us know if you have any questions!

Mindset is EVERYTHING
If there’s one thing that we continue to learn over and over again, it’s that mindset is everything. Our manifestation business coach, Jessica Kulina, was the speaker at our Female Business Builder Event. She shattered all the myths about manifestation and what it means. It was eye opening for everyone in attendance. We wanted to make it available to all that came and those who couldn’t so we recorded the whole thing!!
Read what those who were in attendance said about the experience:
“I didn’t know anything about manifesting before going to this event to hear Jessica speak and I walked away with more than I ever thought of. Not only did it give me motivation and desire to push myself and gain confidence in my business, but it also gave me the confidence to work harder and believe in myself in my every day life!!! You need this in your life!!” ~Rebekah G
“Jessica changed my life. As I went into this event I didn’t know a thing about manifesting by the end I was ready to take control of my business and personal life. She truly is the queen of manifestation, I can’t wait to implement the tools and knowledge she provided! If you have any desire to listen and learn from Jessica, take the plunge! You won’t regret it.” ~Shanice L
]]>Gift giving can be so stressful, especially when the person seems to have everything she could need or want. We might be biased….but we don’t think you could ever go wrong with a candle and a kind note. Keep reading to find to find what scenario describes your situation best.
The I have no idea what she would want: No worries! We have the perfect scent for you. It has been our best seller since day one, a true crowd pleaser and sure to wow your mother-in-law. It’s none other than our Arizona Sunset candle.
The she’s really picky how do I choose: Sending you good vibes because this is the hardest person to shop for. Try to pay attention to what she really dislikes. Some people are strongly anti foodie smells but could go for anything else. As long as you don’t get what she hates you should be in the clear. We recommend going for Arizona Citrus or Arizona Sunset. Both are well liked and not overwhelming.
The she loves citrus/fruity scents: Yay! This person is usually pretty easy to shop for. We recommend Afterglow, Arizona Citrus, Arizona Sunset or Golden Hour. Each has it’s own unique, fruity smell so make sure to read the descriptions to find the perfect fit.
The she is really sophisticated and has a nice house: We have two AMAZING options for this sophisticated kind of woman. Afterglow and Silk Pajamas. Both are unique and luxurious scents. Afterglow has a hint of fruity but is mixed with musk that balances the sweet and adds elegance. Silk Pajamas has the perfect combination of creamy coconut and musk. You couldn’t go wrong with either scent.

]]>Our story is inspired by a very special woman we both call Grandma. Some of our fondest memories come from having sleepovers at her house as kids. We would take bubble baths, do facials, paint nails, and lather ourselves in lavender lotion. Grandma was passionate about clean products. We hope to embody this love in our products by creating candles you feel comfortable burning around your family.
You’ve read about our inspiration but what motivates us to keep going? We have 5 kids between the two of us so running this business is not easy. What motivates us is our love for home and family. We are passionate about creating a safe and welcoming place for our family and loved ones to gather and create memories. Did you know that our sense of smell can immediately bring detailed memories or emotions to remembrance? Lavender and tea tree instantly reminds us of Grandma, memories we especially treasure since she passed away.
Light a candle and snuggle your loved ones because those are memories you’ll want to remember forever.
]]>Tip #1 Time to clean. You don't want to be worrying about what mess your guest might find while they are over. Give your space a nice deep clean so you can relax and enjoy your evening.
Tip #2 Pick a recipe that you have made before. This is not the time to be trying something new. Practice your recipe beforehand or choose one that you are confident with.
Tip #3 About an hour before your guests arrive light a candle. Sight and smell make up a first impression. Welcome your guest with a nice smell that lifts the mood and invites them into your home. (We recommend our best seller, Arizona Sunset).
Tip #4 Don't forget to enjoy the night. If you've prepared by following the previous steps you have nothing to worry about. Don't stress, and have fun!
]]>There are 3 types of phthalates: dibutyl phthalate (DBP), dimethyl phthalate (DMP), and diethyl phthalate (DEP).
“The most common use is in the manufacturing of plastics to make them more flexible and durable, but phthalates can be found in pharmaceuticals, building materials, cleaning products, and other household goods.”
Out of these 3 only one is commonly found in fragrance, DEP. This is really important to note because there are companies who claim to be phthalate free but in the fine print specify that they are only free of DBP or DMP. This is completely misleading as those types of phthalates are rarely found in fragrance anyways.
Why are they used in fragrance if they are so toxic?
“Diethyl phthalates were used extensively in the fragrance industry in the past, primarily as solvents to dissolve the raw materials that go into fragrance formulations. Another common function is increasing the hot throw of a fragrance in soy wax. Not only are diethyl phthalates very effective at these jobs, they’re also widely available and inexpensive.”
But are they really that bad? YES
“Over the last decade or so, more and more research has been done on the effects of phthalates on human health. In addition to their status as endocrine disruptors, phthalates are linked to increased risk of breast cancer, fertility issues, and other health problems.”
TO SUM IT UP
It is impossible to eliminate every single phthalate in your life. But we hope this information makes you stop and think. There are some simple changes you can make to limit your exposure. Shampoo, conditioner, dry shampoo, deodorant, make up, cleaning products. Start paying attention to what your buying and look for healthier options when you run out of your Windex and need to buy more anyways. Start with replacing the basics when needed and pretty soon you will have switched over all the things you come in contact with on a day to day basis. ]]>1. Essential Oils:
Essential oils are derived from natural plant, herb and floral materials. Commonly derived by pressing the plant materials or a process called steam distillation.
2. Natural Isolates:
You can make 100% natural fragrances by extracting isolates from essential oils, plant and flower materials. You can create more complex scents by layering isolates.
3. Synthetic Fragrance:
These man made fragrances can come from 2,000-5,000 different materials. You can create smells that cannot be found in nature. In order to make sure this fragrance is safe, ensure that it is phthalate free.
4. Naturally Derived:
Made from natural materials that are extracted using a solvent. Not considered 100% natural since they have been contaminated by a solvent (like alcohol).
]]>This candle is especially motivating for getting laundry done. What’s your least favorite part about doing laundry?
If you thought, putting it away, WE ARE ON THE SAME PAGE!
So here are some tips for getting the laundry done and making your space feel fresh and clean!
First, clear out all the clothes in the back of your closet that you haven’t even touched.
I like to start at the back of the closet and get rid of anything that I haven’t worn in the last year. I’ve finally accepted that if I hadn’t worn it since my last round of spring cleaning then it wasn’t going to get worn. DONATE IT!
Second, Get the laundry started. The worst part it putting it all away but this is how I get through it...
I like to set a timer and get it done as fast as I possibly can. It becomes a game of speed and eliminates my phone as a distraction. Before you know it, the laundry is done and the feeling of accomplishment reflects from you as you walk proudly around the house.
For extra measure, light your Clean candle while doing the laundry to give you that extra motivation. And make sure your husband can smell it when he gets home so he can comment on the smell and you can tell him all about what you got done today.

ALL WICKS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL
The first thing you should you look when buying a candle is the wick. You need to know, does it contain lead?
]]>ALL WICKS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL
The first thing you should you look when buying a candle is the wick. You need to know, does it contain lead?
All of our candle wicks are constructed from all-natural ring-spun cotton. They do not contain zinc, lead, or any other metals. All of our candle wicks have a natural wax coating, comprised of vegetable wax and beeswax.
]]>Have you ever lit a candle and it melts straight down and can never melt the whole surface of the candle? This is probably because there are air bubbles in the wax.
Sink holes are tricky because you usually can't see them. They are most commonly under the surface, near the wick. Any movement of the candle while it's drying can cause air bubbles to appear. It can also happen if the room in which the candles are setting up is too cold. Cold air causes wax to shrink.
In order to avoid this problem completely we use a heat gun to melt the surface and reveal any air bubbles under the surface. If there is one we melt the surface until the hot wax can fill in all the pockets of air.
]]>Is there a black ring around your jar? Is your wax getting tinted black?
]]>Is there a black ring around your jar? Is your wax getting tinted black?
If this is happening to you it's probably because you need to TRIM YOUR WICK! We preach this over and over because it's soooo important to know. Black ring around the jar? This is because your wick is mushrooming. The build up of soot on your wick is giving off black soot into the air and consequently, all over your beautiful jar. How do you prevent this?? SO SIMPLE. Just trim your wick before each burn and the problem is solved.
Is your wick getting tinted black? Something we see way too often is a droopy wick. If your wick doesn't get trimmed it'll droop over until it hits the wax. Don't let the black soot contaminate your beautiful creamy wax. Make sure you trim your wick every time! And when you do trim it, make sure you get out any debris before lighting. This will keep you candle clean and pure.
Another cause for the wax getting tinted is wind. That's right, burn your candle in a drafty area and you could start seeing some black in the wax. Keep your candle away from open windows and fans to prevent this.
]]>
Have you noticed that your candle is tunneling? Is the wax along the edges not melting?
Every time you light your candle you should leave it burning long enough for the entire surface to melt.
HOW DO I FIX A TUNNELED CANDLE?
Wrap a piece of tin foil around the top of your candle and burn like normal. If it doesn't fully reach the edge, light out your candle and repeat the process next time you burn it! If you have any questions let us know, we have a video of the process on our instagram.
]]>Are you burning through your candles way too fast??
You should only burn your candle for a max of 3-4 hours. This will extend the life of your candle and its also a safety hazard. Burning your candle for too long can result in a wick that has mushroomed (collected a ball of soot on the end) and a flame that is too big and hot.
Candle Pro Tip: If you are a candle lover like us, make sure you have a few candles on hand. Let one burn for 3-4 hours then light it out and rotate to another one. This is increase the longevity of all your candles. If you have one scent that you're currently in love with stock up on it and rotate through them throughout the day.
]]>If non toxic living is important to you, here are 3 things you should know about us!
1. All of our candles are naturally off-white in color as no dyes are added. They also do not include benzotriazole, BTA. This is a UV inhibitor that also releases toxins. Most candle makers use this to keep the wax from yellowing.
2. The candle that you buy from us today has soy that was likely in the ground less than a year ago. Our wax is eco-friendly, renewable, American grown, sustainable, carbon neutral + more.
3. Each of our fragrances have a unique blend. The company we buy our scents from puts all of their fragrances through rigorous testing. They don’t meet the bare minimum requirements like other companies do. These scents go above and beyond. The fragrances we use exclude cancer-causing ingredients that require a Proposition 65 warning in California, as well as similar ingredients not on the Prop 65 list. As of summer of 2019 they are all 100% Phthalate-free. Our scents are also free from carcinogens, reproductive toxins, and other potentially hazardous chemicals often found in fragrance. We truly believe we have the highest standard of fragrance in our products.

]]>Here are some things you need to know...
A wick trimmer is essential for you. Putting scissors down in the candle to trim your wick is annoying and hard. And you must know that trimming your wick is an absolute must. Here’s why:
1. A wick not trimmed is dangerous. Not to mention large flames burn your candle way too fast and leave a big mushroom of soot on your wick.
2. If your wick goes too long without being trimmed it will droop and dip into the wax. This pollutes your fragrance leaving a not very nice smell.
3. If you don’t trim your wick the massive flame will turn the edges of your jar black. This black soot will not come off in the dishwasher and therefore prohibits you from being able to reuse your jar.
4. A big, mushroomed wig is simply not cute!!! Here’s a friendly reminder to always TRIM YOUR WICK
XOXO
